Key Highlights from the Updated Guidelines
Screening Start Age
Cervical screening is recommended beginning at age 25 for individuals with a cervix who have ever been sexually active.
HPV Primary Testing
HPV testing is now the preferred primary screening method, replacing the traditional Pap test as the first-line approach.
Screening Interval
With a negative HPV test, screening intervals may extend to every 5 years, reducing the frequency of testing for low-risk individuals.
